Course Summary
Risk is an ever present issue for counsellors. This workshop will give candidates an understanding of the issues surrounding risk and is designed to raise awareness of our working practices and decision-making around risk. We will explore how to assess and support clients who are at risk as well the importance of facing and managing our own fears.
Topics Covered
By the end of the course, candidates shall have greater awareness, understanding and skills in enabling them to work with clients who are at risk. Topics covered include:
- An exploration of the types of risk within counselling
- Frameworks for managing risk and mitigations
- The role of ethical decision making and next steps

Entry Requirements
Suitable for qualified counsellors or trainee counsellors in year 1 of Level 4 or above.
